Just browsing thru and found your blog. The cake is beautiful! What are the bees made of? Super cool!
Thanks! The bees are made of Marzipan smooshed up with a little saffron to make it yellow. Then I used the chocolate glaze to make stripes and eyes and pressed in almond slices for wings. The idea comes from Nigella Lawson's Feast cookbook- highly recommend it :D
That is too adorable. I would have never thought about using almond slices for wings. Very clever. Thanks for sharing! I'll check out Nigella's book.
